Join us for appetizers and some suds from Revolution Brewing as we celebrate Divvy’s 6th Birthday at the gorgeous Theater on the Lake. Officials from Divvy will be on hand to toast the occasion and share more about their work to bring equitable transportation to the city- including exciting outreach on the South and West sides! Active Trans enthusiastically supported Divvy’s recently announced expansion plans, which will bring bikeshare to all 50 wards by 2021, adding 175 stations and 10,500 ebikes or docked/dockless ebikes. Registration is $15, which includes one drink ticket and hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds benefit the Active Transportation Alliance.


Bike Week Rally

What’s more impressive than one person on a bike? Hundreds of people on bikes! There will be free giveaways from our sponsors, bike-themed entertainment, educational programming and maybe even a guy making balloon animals. Visit activetrans.org/bikeweek for more information.

Saturday, June 22: South Shore Neighborhood Bike Ride - South Shore Windsor Park Bicycle Cooperative

Monday, June 24: Bicycle Tour of of Chicago’s North and Northwest Regions

  • 6:00pm
  • 4550 W Sunnyside Ave
  • The bicycle tour will allow participants to observe and experience connectivity challenges where highways and train tracks create physical barriers for people bicycling and walking. The group will begin and finish the bike ride at the same location. The route will be approximately 8-10 miles long at a slow/medium pace. No loaner bikes will be available for this event; please bring your own bicycle and helmet. Please RSVP to Romina Castillo (romina@musecommunitydesign.com) by Friday June 22nd

Friday, June 28: Bike Commuter Safety Training - Boys and Girls Club of Chicago

  • 4:00pm - 6:00pm
  • 2915 N Leavitt St
  • A bike commuter safety training aimed toward youth 12 years and older in the 1st ward. The training will teach youth proper bike street commuting practices. The training will conclude with a small bike ride along the Chicago River, stopping at future sites for the proposed Chicago River Trail, focusing at the Lathrop Homes development, Clark Park, Horner Park and Lincoln Yards.
